Take Your Tears to God
My eyes will flow unceasingly, without relief, until the Lord looks down from heaven and sees (Lamentations 3:49–50). Grief, sorrow and pain... are all apart of this world, some we can change, others we have no control. Our relief our refuge is only found in our relationship, our fellowship with the Father. Sometimes believers in Jesus have a hard time knowing what to do with grief. Perhaps we fear that our sorrow might look like a lack of hope. We cry out to God not because we have lost hope, but because we believe God is listening. And when we call, God does come near.
It’s not wrong to lament the broken things in our world or in your life. God is always listening, and you can be sure that God will look down from heaven and see you.
“Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me”
